$85,000 AVAILABLE FOR 2010 GRANTS
The Cass County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that an even greater pool of community grant funds will be available to Cass County non-profits for the 2010 Community Grant process. CCCF Executive Director Deanna Crispen has announced that the Foundation has made up to $85,000 available for this year’s grants cycle. When making the announcement, Crispen stated, “a goal of our board has been to grow our funds so that every year we can offer more back to the community for important projects This year’s $85,000 pool is $10,000 more than in 2009 and $20,000 more than we were able to offer in 2006. We are especially excited to be able to offer the increase in funds when the economy has hurt so many of our organizations.” Thanks to generous donations from Cass County citizens, as well as effective stewardship and financial management of these funds, CCCF has continued to consistently meet the community’s needs through awarding grants. Non-profit, 501(c) (3) organizations serving Cass County are encouraged to apply for grants designed for projects which benefit the community and improve the quality of life in Cass County.
A FREE grant-writing workshop will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the LEDF Community Room, 310 Pearl Street, downtown Logansport. While attendance at the workshop is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended for non-profit organizations who are applying for grants, particularly those with no prior grant-writing experience. Those planning to attend should call CCCF at 574-722-2200 for reservations.
Grant applications may be picked up at the CCCF office, 417 North Street, downtown Logansport, or downloaded from the Foundation website (www.casscountycf.org) after the workshop. The deadline to return completed grant applications is 5:00p.m. on June 30, 2010. For information about the application process, contact the CCCF office at 574-722-2200.

COMPETITIVE GRANTS CYCLE
The Cass County Community Foundation operates on an annual grant cycle. Those eligible to apply for a grant are non-profit organizations with documentation of 501(c)(3) status, whose projects directly impact the lives of Cass County, Indiana residents (see the current grant application under “forms” on this website).
Please note – public schools, while non-profit, are not 501(c)(3) and therefore are not eligible. Partnership/collaboration with an existing 501(c)(3) organization would meet eligibility requirements.
The complete schedule of the grant cycle, as well as the amount of grant monies available, is announced each spring. A free grant-writing workshop is scheduled, and announced in the local media as well as on the CCCF website. Although attendance at this free workshop is not required, it is strongly recommended, particularly for first-time grant applicants. CCCF staff is available for follow-up assistance after completion of the workshop.
A late spring deadline for grant applications will be determined and announced. All applications are reviewed by a committee comprised of CCCF Board members and other volunteers from the community. Upon completion of review by the CCCF Grants Committee, recipients are notified and invited to attend a late summer grants reception.
